Habiter Montreal, City of Montreal

LiquidCMS was not the original design team for the Habiter Montreal site (www.habitermontreal.com); but the City of Montreal approached LiquidCMS about fixing some of the issues on their site. The biggest of these was to fix the site's Borough Map; which was the key to the entire site.

The Borough Map was to provide a very customized Google Map page that would show the many Montreal boroughs and with not only the residences available to new residents but would also show a host of important neighbourhood information. Some of the Borough Maps features included:

• a very customized residence popup with tabs for street view, slide shows and details on the residence
• borough boundaries
• grouped amenities such as schools, libraries, pools, etc. when the map became too cluttered
• amenity counts
• full screen mode
• better styling
• user favorites flagging
• Walkscore integration
• and more...

This clean up project also encapsulated some other basic features such as setting up proper image handling and language switching.

We also designed a slick new home page Borough Selector graphic to draw users to the Borough Map they were searching for.

The City's project lead (Claire McKenna) was thrilled with LiquidCMS's improvements.
